I don’t know when we all became such cold individuals, but I think it’s time we stopped.
When did it become okay to backstab our friends on the internet, posting mean statuses or tweets or photos in order to make ourselves feel better?
When did it become okay to judge people solely based on what we see on their social media profiles? Or for that matter, when did it become okay to criticize when others post unhappy statuses about their lives?
When did it become okay to ghost people because we feel that if we can erase ourselves off of their newsfeed?
When did it become okay to assume the worst in people because we base our judgements on the little facts that we know?
When did it become okay to treat people like objects so consistently instead of treating them like the awesome humans they are?
When did any of this become okay?
I think that it’s time we start standing up for ourselves and bringing back the concept of respect to one another.
We spend so much of our time making assumptions, hating on other people, and leaving others in the dust instead of being kind—because that’s what we are learning through the media.
It’s time that we start to appreciate each other again and to help others who are silently crying for help instead of judging them.
It’s time that we start being honest with each other face to face instead of lying our way through.
It’s time that we start congratulating each other on life accomplishments instead of being jealous.
It’s time that we start sharing our feelings with one another instead of bottling our thoughts.
It’s time that we start loving each other instead of using each other.
It’s time that we start encouraging each other instead of disapproving each other.
It’s time that we start to respect each other, because we are all that we have.
